A 5.8 Earthquake hit L.A today!

"CALIFORNIANS steadied their shredded nerves today after being spooked by an earthquake that rumbled across the region in an eerie foretaste of the long-awaited "Big One".Buildings rumbled, windows rattled and bottles flew off supermarket shelves from Los Angeles to San Diego, but officials and emergency services breathed a sigh of relief as no serious injuries or damage was recorded. However, the 5.4-magnitude quake left many Californians all shook up. No major injuries or damage were reported following the quake, which struck at 11.42am local time near Chino Hills, a town 50km east of Los Angeles at a depth of 12km, the United States Geological Survey said. The tremor was felt across Los Angeles. Offices and restaurants could be seen evacuating workers and customers. The quake, which was followed by 27 minor aftershocks, rippled across California and Nevada, rattling city officials in San Diego, tourists in Disneyland and residents as far east as Las Vegas. California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger said the region had been lucky to avoid a major disaster. “Thank god that there have not been any reports of serious injuries or damage to properties,” Mr Schwarzenegger said."

Black In America Part 2 : Black Men

This documentary event held by CNN has really opened my eyes to the plights that plague African-American communities. A lot of blame and pointing of fingers has been made within and around the community and have involuntarily and voluntarily have perpetuated the very notion of bleak outcomes for African Americans males and females. The generational curses that have yet to be rectified by us, let alone responded to by our white counterparts, thus have eroded they very of foundation of potential growth. I understand the socio-environmental circumstances that play apart impoverished neighborhoods. The cause :lack of money, role models, and hope for a future leaves many brothers and sisters to strive for nothing more, thus leading to routine offenses of morality and dignity. The cause could be seen to be the lack of education witin the community which is a fair assumption, but what about awareness?

Is Pookie who is on the corner selling dope watching this? Are the crips who are about to commit another drive by in south central watching this? And what about Ashley, 19, with three kids all fathered by different men, on welfare, is she watching this?

I want to say that personally i have made a conscious decision to break black men stereotypes and already being a labeled a statistic from conception can be a deterrent. I was raised by neither one of my parents and have had four other brothers and sisters that have several different fathers. However I've never used my circumstances as means to validate my plights. Though i may, to some, be only a number , I am more than any equivalent that comes with seeing my skin.

I am a college student whose going to day by day change the tide and not fall victim to stereotypes that have been drilled into me voluntary and involuntary.

The View: N-Word

So the fact of the matter is

Im falling in love with Jesus more and more . Today i went to church and i felt i have been caring a burden of uncomfortably, doubt, and hopelessness. I have been going through a gauntlet of feelings that have only sharpened my bitterness and sinacle perspective of life. Ive been feeling that the my world is crashing down. So going to church today was a must. I went to church with my cousin Tyana and her son Kingston at 11:00 am. It was Woman's Day at West Angeles and all the elder women were well arrayed with they're sequined dresses and extravagant hats. The message today was given by a woman by the name Evangelist Joyce Rodgers. The message was titled "It's Not an issue anymore" the scriptures came out Mark 5:25 and Jeremiah 29:11. The words of the bible she preached and the holy spirit were on one accord the whole time. She made me realize that the issues that a man or woman can only be rectified when Jesus is put into the equation. Throughout the whole service i felt like she was talking to me directly. I truly felt the conviction because of the message. AT the alter call i walked down to the and broke down into to tears for all the pain that Ive been going through. I didn't care anymore! I needed Jesus to hear out of my mouth what he knew was they're already there. And He heard it! It's Not an issue anymore! Im new in Christ Jesus! " No weapon formed against me shall prosper" The devil is a liar. I'm Looking at my life now and seeing that I'm not perfect but I'm going to walk righteously in the sight of God.
p.s
I want to say to all my readers and Browsers of this blog that Keeping god first and Praying for those around you will guarantee the yokes will be broken and your words will be responded to by the almighty God.

The Cool Outrageous Lovers of Uniquely Raw Style

An old poem

I HAVE THOUGHT OF THINGS
IVE FOUND MEANINGS
IV'E SEEN AN ANGEL WITH WINGS
POETRY IS AN ACTORS SONNET
WILL YOU KEEP MY HEART SAFE IN YOUR LOCKET
THEN LOCK IT
DONT LET IT LEAK OUT LIKE A FAUCET
SEE IN OUR CONVERSATION IS THE KEY
IT BEGINS YOU, IT BEGINS ME
I WANT US TO VISIT IT FREQUENTLY
SPEECH IS A SEGWAY INTO YOUR HEART......SO HOW DO I START..........
IS IT WHEN I FINISH...
...PROBABLY MY MIND IS PACING AS THIS POEM BEGINS TO DIMINSH

This has to be some sort of Joke right. Well apparently the internationally read journal The New Yorker put out this cover of Obama and wife insinuating that they're tied to to terrorism. The New Yorker states that this cover is merely satire. That is bull............. Why would the put this on shelves obviously to show the ignorant views of America as racist as it is!!!
whatever they cant knock the Obama train though

Today was pretty chill just felt rejuvenated and ready to take on the world( I watched Joel Osteen last night). So i woke up with so much zeal and i wanted to set the stage for success. So i jumped on my board at like 2:15 and skated to wamu on sunset bumping the ipod. i made it to Wamu and the line was like a centipede ... I couldn't take it... So i kicked push to the Jack in the box to get me some chicken sandwiches. After that came back to the house and surfed the web........ Now..... Im on the couch with my grandmother arguing about the significance of race in relationships and how media has deteriorated the perception of black love (from the Cosby's to Baby boy)...
